On Friday 27th January an excited and determined group of 30 children, from Years 3 and 4 at Vernon Primary School, took part in the Sportshall Athletics at Poynton High School. There were 5 other schools competing and it was an extremely exciting and thrilling morning, with all the children cheering and supporting each other during each event. These included relay races, standing long jump, speed bounce, javelin and many more. The team spirit and encouragement  exhibited by the children was incredible and after a tense wait to find out the results, it had paid off. The children of Vernon Primary school had won the whole competition!

Miss Wildig, one of the teachers who accompanied the children to the High School said, “All of the children should be very proud of themselves, for their achievement and their impeccable behaviour throughout the competition.”

A huge thank you to the parents who helped and supported the children during this electrifying event.
