Cheshire East Council is consulting with the Poynton local community over the potential
disposal of a parcel of playing field at The Former Vernon Infant School. Specifically, a strip of
playing field which is to the rear of the former school building. Any playing field disposal of land
on a school site requires approval by the Secretary of State under Section 77 of the School
Standards and Framework Act 1998. As part of the application process the Secretary of State
requires that a period of consultation is undertaken prior to any submission. The period of

The 7-week consultation period will run from 14 June to 2 August 2023. The easiest way to
