Poynton Flood Action Group is continuing to keep flood resilience at the top of the agenda. Made up of Poynton residents for Poynton residents the Group is hosting a ‘Flood Smart’ event on January 25th 2020 at the Civic Centre. The main aim of the event is to give Poynton residents an insight into all the work that has been taking place behind the scenes following the floods in July 2019; why the village has been impacted by flooding in recent years; and to give people the opportunity to discuss any ongoing concerns.
The Flood Action Group along with various other agency spokespeople will talk about how residents of Poynton can become more resilient to flooding in the future. It will also highlight what flood resilience we would like to see put in place by the relevant agencies/authorities to reduce flooding in Poynton in the future.
