Due to weather conditions and wilful damage of anti-litter campaign signs, the Council Community Support Team have replaced them with more substantial ones.
The CCST urge people to adhere to littering laws and keep Poynton free from litter. Littering is an offence for which you can receive a fixed penalty charge of up to £80.
The CCST have made contact with all local schools to wish them well in their new term and offer any assistance they may require in the coming months. The Team have also arranged several educational talks to be delivered to local primary schools.
The CCST have also dealt with a case of fly tipping. Fly tipping is a criminal offence and can in some cases be punishable with fines up to £50.000 or imprisonment.
