Over 5,500 residents in our area have made contact with their GP about their poor mental health. At a recent meeting of Poynton community groups and services called ‘Poynton Together’, poor mental health was also raised as a concern. Volunteers from Poynton Area Community Partnership (PACP) have produced a contact sheet with details of local support services and organisations around mental health and other issues which affect mental health, such as social isolation, debt and money problems and domestic abuse.

Mentell, a local charity, commissioned by Cheshire East Council provides circles for men aged 18+ to talk in a safe and confidential space, free from advice and judgement. Find a circle here https://www.mentell.org.uk/learn/online-circles . They also have a number of campaigns that you can support: Turn Your Bar/Barber or Business Blue. This is their website https://www.mentell.org.uk/

The 12th Man Campaign has a very different approach and offers free Mental Health First Aid training to communities. This provides an invisible support network giving people the skills and knowledge to talk about mental health with their friends and colleagues on a daily basis, so they don’t need to go to a different group.
