Poynton is a thriving Cheshire village of 15,000 people and is situated on the edge of Greater Manchester. Poynton Town Council is an innovative organisation which has had 10 years’ experience of working with the Police at the forefront of Community Policing.

Poynton Town Council employs a team of Council Community Support Officers. These

positions will be a visible uniformed presence and will have accredited powers of enforcement.

You’ll usually work 37 hours a week on day and evening shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts usually cover the hours between 8am and midnight.

You’ll mostly be outdoors, patrolling residential areas on foot or bike. You may also work indoors, for example when giving talks to community groups and schools. You’ll be provided with a uniform. The post is subject to Police and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) vetting.
