Once again, Poynton children came up trumps embracing the Summer Reading Challenge. 617 children completed the challenge to visit the library four times during the summer and read six library books. They were rewarded by receiving a certificate and a medal at a special ceremony attended by the Mayor of Poynton, Sarah-Jane Gilmore, Councillor Jos Saunders, the PCSOs and volunteers who helped with administering the challenge.
Library staff would like to thank Poynton Town Council who generously funded the summer events which complemented the reading challenge thus enabling us to offer them to participants free of charge.
