Girlguiding members from Poynton joined with other girls from across Cheshire to celebrate 30 years of Rainbows. The theme was an Ocean Adventure as 30 years is traditionally a pearl anniversary.

Olivia the Rainbow mascot invited all the Rainbows to join her at her Ocean Adventure Party to enjoy and discover lots of exciting activities.

At the end of the day they enjoyed a sing song and sang to all Rainbows across the country. happy birthday All the girls received party bags stuffed with goodies.

Organiser Karen Taylor said “It was so rewarding seeing the smiling faces of the 300 Rainbows who came to the event and had an amazing time! I have met some inspirational volunteers since joining Girlguiding five years ago, had lots of fun, learnt new skills and made some great friends along the way. I volunteer for Girlguiding as I believe that it is important that girls have the space to have fun being girls”

Rainbows are members of Girlguiding ages 5 -7 offering a hugely varied programme incorporating everything from world issues and science to social action, adventure sports and travel. The charity builds girls’ confidence and raises their aspirations, giving them their own space to have fun and build friendships.
