Despite the rain Park Lane was filled with red, white and blue bunting, Jubilee fun and cheer! Poynton is blessed with some talented musicians and performers who came together to celebrate in style. Special thanks to the Farmers Arms and Poynton Baptist Church who kindly accommodated performers because of the inclement weather.
The Scouts and the Girlguides provided children’s activities including a human fruit machine, splat the rat, street games – egg and spoon, bean bag races and hula hooping! The Town Council would especially like to thank resident Mat Wynne and other volunteers who without their dedication, the event wouldn’t have happened and the businesses who opened for the day to support this wonderful community event.
Thank you to all other groups and volunteers for their Platinum Jubilee related contributions around the Town that helped make the celebrations wonderful for our residents.
