Poynton’s Cheshire East councillors – Howard Murray and Jos Saunders in Poynton East, and Mike Beanland and Mike Sewart in Poynton West – have campaigned against plans to greatly reduce local bus services. Cheshire East consulted on the future of about 50 separate routes, and the two Poynton services – the P1 and 392/3 – were third and fourth of the number of responses from the public in Cheshire East’s recent consultation. The top two services were in Crewe, which has a much larger population.
No decisions have yet been taken on which services will be changed. A report will go to the Council’s cabinet around November, with any changes taking effect from 1st April 2018.
