United Utilities have completed the water main diversion and the site has been returned to Cheshire East Highways so works can now be safely undertaken. Groundworks will commence on site this week to undertake investigations for the foundation design. After that Cheshire East Highways will be re-starting work on the site to repair  the wall.

Part of their brief will include a full review of the highway drainage system and outfalls. Work has already started to investigate the existing drainage system and they will be looking to undertake these works in conjunction with the wall repairs. Cheshire East Highways say they are looking to include all of the drainage up to the junction with Waterloo Road. With the extensive delays caused by the water main diversion, they hope that the work on site will be concluded towards the end of March.
