The newly refurbished Milestone Marker was installed earlier this week after the stone was smashed by vandals earlier in the year. A new Stone was cut by Earl’s Stone at their quarry in Kerridge. The iron plate was blasted and powder coated. Phil Cunningham, Poynton’s Operations Manager said. “The Iron plate is a least 200 years old and should last another 200 years after this treatment.” He went on to say “Poynton Town Council are indebted to Poynton Local History society as well as residents and local businesses without whom this would not have happened.
