Tuesday the 8th October was definitely a night to remember, or at least learn how to remember! The special memory class was arranged at The Centre, Poynton, to teach people simple techniques for recalling a host of everyday items, names and numbers. The event was organised by Jake Barlow, of Poynton who was inspired to raise funds for Poynton dementia support group, Golden Memories, after a family member died of the disease.

Guests included students and teachers learning shortcuts to revision. Plus, parents and grandparents needing a hand overcoming those ‘senior moments’ we all have from time to time. A wonderful night that raised £200, with all the proceeds going to Golden Memories. Jake would like to thank everyone who came along and made it a great success.

Everyone had fun learning clever tips and tricks for recalling lists. However, the funniest moment came when Jake taught everyone how to remember names using a particularly playful visualisation technique. Needless to say, everyone can now remember who Johnny is!
