In a bid to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, a team made up of Lower Park School staff, family members and a pet dog, took part in the recent Cheshire Memory Walk.

Despite the driving rain, the group of twenty one remained in high spirits as they joined hundreds of other supporters and walked around the grounds of Arley Wall.

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, around 225,000 people develop dementia every year- that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. Team member, Jackie Gallagher said, “Many of us have loved ones who have been affected by this dreadful disease. We have been walking to raise money to find a way for a world without dementia”

The team have been successfully raised over £1300 to date, but with money still being donated, it is hoped that this may hit £1500. If you feel you are in a position where you would like to make a donation, please visit this JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/mw334092
