John and Denise Albutt both work and live in Poynton and ran their 1st marathon in London in 2006. At that time they thought it would be their first and last, but John has now run 6 marathons and Denise 4 marathons. In 2006 they raised money for Get Kids Going who provide specially built wheelchairs for disabled children and young people to allow them to participate in many different sports, some going on to compete in the Paralympics.
