Everybody Sport & Recreation are working with a passionate group of local volunteers who have been trained by ‘Walking for Health UK’ to start short walks in and around Poynton area.

Walking for Health is an England-wide programme of health walk schemes that deliver free, regular led walks that are designed to support people get active and stay active.

Jayne, Walter & Simon (Pictured below) registered their interest to become walks leaders and support local residents to get out, increase their active and socialise in a safe environment.

Everybody Sport & Recreation has been working in partnership with Poynton Area Community Partnership & Poynton Town Council who have help develop and promote these walks, and it was the Connected Communities Centre in Poynton that provide facilities to train the volunteers. These FREE short walks are going to be accessible to all, particularly people who are looking to increase their activity, and will meet fortnightly outside Poynton Civic Hall (SK12 1RB) starting back in the new year on Wednesday 2nd January at 9.45am for a 10am start. After each walk we will be encouraging people to stay for a warm drink and chat if they have time.
