David Rutley, MP for Macclesfield, has confirmed his strong support for the Poynton-with-Worth Neighbourhood Plan at a consultation meeting held at Poynton Civic Hall on Saturday 22nd October.

Poynton’s Neighbourhood Plan will help shape the way the community develops from now until 2030. The Plan has sections on the environment, Green Belt policy and housing development, as well as transport and infrastructure. It is vital that local residents continue to put forward their views in the weeks ahead.

Following extensive consultation within the Poynton community and with other interested parties, the current phase of the Neighbourhood Plan gives local residents an opportunity to comment on the latest proposals before they are formally submitted to Cheshire East Council. All responses will be carefully considered by the Neighbourhood Plan team, and then the Plan will be amended if necessary prior to submission.

The statutory consultation period is six weeks and residents’ comments must be received by 5.00 pm on Monday 14th November 2016. Feedback can be provided on the sections of the Plan by following the links at www.poyntonnp.org.uk and longer submissions can be sent to Ms Liz Osborn, Poynton’s Town Clerk. If people do not have access to a computer, printed feedback forms and printed reference copies of the Plan are available to view at the Library and at the Civic Hall. There will be another drop in session at the Civic Hall from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Wednesday 2nd November, when members of the Neighbourhood Plan team will be on hand to assist with any queries.

After the meeting David said: “I am most grateful to all the Neighbourhood Plan team for their hard work and dedicated service to the community by establishing such a comprehensive Plan. I would encourage local residents to have their say in this latest stage of the consultation before the plans are submitted to Cheshire East Council.”
