Starting on Tuesday 19th May, twelve Davenport Golf Club members calling themselves Hadrian’s Hoofers, will begin walking Hadrian’s Wall in support of the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, the Club’s chosen charity for 2015.

The Hoofers will walk from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway, over 8 days, covering a distance of 84 miles along the route of the famous Hadrian’s Wall built by the Romans in AD 122 for Emperor Hadrian.

The intrepid team have been preparing for their task with some arduous training, walking around Poynton and the adjoining countryside in a variety of weathers,  to ensure they are at their peak of fitness.

Paul Robinson Davenport Golf Club’s Captain comments: ‘It’s a tough challenge with a walk of this length and variety of terrain but the Hoofers are determined to put in a top performance in aid of a great cause. If you would like to support the Hoofers, please visit our special charity web site at: www.justgiving.com/captainscharity2015   or text HOOF84 via your mobile, with your donation and send it to 70070.
