The Town Mayor of Poynton had the very important job of recently opening Worth Primary School’s new garden. The children of the gardening club and various members of staff and helpers were there to cheer and applaud when the ribbon was cut. The Mayor was very interested to find out what was going to be grown in the garden. The children told her that they were hoping to grow potatoes, strawberries and tomatoes as well as many other fruits and vegetables and flowers.

Everyone at Worth Primary School would like to say a huge thank you to all who have volunteered and donated towards the new garden; Swift Tree Services for the new garden shed, The Swift Organisation for all of the top soil and flag stones, Worth PTA for their generous financial donation and Mrs Ruth Kay for a number of different materials and resources but also her volunteered time and effort. In addition to the donations received, Mr Richard Greaves deserves an enormous thank you for all of his hard work in building the new school garden. The children cannot wait to start planting and watching their garden grow.
