On Easter Monday Davenport Golf Club, here in Poynton, opened its summer season with the traditional Captain’s Drive-In.
Having recently taken up their appointments for 2016, the Captain, Keith Worrall, the Lady Captain, Sue Rowton and the Junior Captain Steffan Sullivan each took a tee shot from the 14th tee near the clubhouse.
Many of the members attended to watch and a small flutter on where each of the drives would land.
The money raised, together with money raised at other events throughout the year, will go to this year’s Captains’ Charity – The Alzheimer’s Society.
Davenport is a friendly inclusive golf club that offers those interested in taking up golf various ‘introduction to golf’ sessions for men, women and children.
