Poynton’s newly-created green space, the Heritage Garden was very proud to have participated for the first time in this year’s Garden Safari, an annual fund raiser for Poynton in Bloom. There was a steady stream of visitors during the day, with Poynton’s Mayor, Cllr Sarah-Jane Gilmore, one of the first to drop by. Lunchtime visitors were treated to live musical entertainment provided by the talented Union Chapel Jazz Band. The opportunity was also taken to present a cheque to Peter Wood from the Anson Engine Museum as a thank you to the Museum volunteers for providing a replica mining truck – the newest addition to the Garden. Friends of the Heritage Garden would like to thank all those who came along on the day.
