Kerry from Cheshire East Fire and Rescue Service recently visited Worth Primary School. The children learnt about the three elements a fire needs to burn (oxygen, fuel and heat) and how removing one of these will stop fires burning. The children were asked to discuss all the things that could cause fires at home – there were more than they thought. They found out that there are lots of steps we can take to prevent fires such as not overloading plugs, not charging devices overnight and closing internal doors at night.

They also learnt about how to safely leave homes in the event of a fire and the information needed if a 999 call is made.
