On Sunday 23rd April, Poynton dad of two Anthony Ford joined 40,000 fellow runners taking part in the London Marathon. Anthony ran in support two local families

Despite struggling with a throat infection and leg cramps, Anthony was determined to finish the race and to raise as much money as possible for Ollies Army and Robyn’s Quest for Comfort. Anthony has almost doubled his original target of £500 for both families and every little helps. The funds for Ollies Army will help to support the family of Ollie and Amelia and enable them to tick items off their wish list. The funds for Robyn’s Quest for comfort will enable Robyn’s family to purchase specialist equipment for Robyn who suffered brain damage at birth.

Anthony finished the race cheered on by his friends and family including his four year old son Charlie who attends St Paul’s Primary School.
