Poynton Town Council have been very pleased to support Middlewood Partnership’s Covid-19 vaccination programme at the civic hall which has resulted in over 21,000 vaccinations being administered.

Since the first clinic on the 16th January there have been 43 morning or afternoon clinics with the final clinic on the 22nd June. 28 volunteers have supported the clinics ‘outside’ by providing a friendly face, answering questions and ensuring social distancing is maintained. This has required 384 hours of volunteer time which on average is 14 hours per volunteer. In fact some individuals did many more hours. Whatever time has given, we want to say thank you!

Poynton Town Council would like to thank all the volunteers no matter how much time they gave for their community. It added a personal touch to Poynton’s vaccination experience which was a daunting prospect for some, especially in the early days, when it was the first time they had been outside of their homes for nearly a year – and they dressed to the nines for the happy occasion!

The volunteers have been out from early until late, in all weathers including an especially snowy Saturday morning when gritting was needed to keep the footpaths clear for residents!
