Poynton Gilbert & Sullivan Society are presenting their fully costumed annual stage performance, which this year is ‘The Sorcerer’, on Tuesday 1st to Saturday 5th October 2019 at 7.30pm each evening at Poynton Civic Hall, SK12 1RB.

First performed in 1877, The Sorcerer set the pattern for subsequent Gilbert and Sullivan operettas: patter songs, love songs, chorus numbers, sharp satire. In The Sorcerer, Gilbert’s target for satire is the English obsession with class differences.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £7 for 16 and under, and are available at Mates DIY on Park Lane, The Civic Hall or by telephone 01625 876 394 and e-mail tickets@poyntongands.co.uk They are also available on the door each evening.
