The Town is currently served by the 391 and 392 bus service between Stockport and Macclesfield. It provides an important lifeline to residents who do not have cars, giving access to the town centre, it’s shops and facilities.

The Town Council is concerned that low usage of the service could lead to Cheshire East reducing or even withdrawing the bus service in the future and we would urge residents to make as much use of the service as possible. Cheshire East are currently in the bottom 5 local authorities for the amount of people using buses and they are currently engaging with town and parish council’s as part of it’s response to the National Bus Strategy.

We are in real danger of losing these buses and the Town Council want to help you keep the service. However, if numbers using it don’t increase, it will be lost.

A copy of the bus timetable is available from the Civic Hall or can be viewed on Poynton Town Council’s website. https://www.poyntontowncouncil.gov.uk/Transport_35280.aspx
