Good progress is being made on this project, which will transform the barren space between the Library and Priorlegh Medical Practice into a heritage garden for all to enjoy. In addition to the hard-won funding to date of £5,000, the project was recently awarded £750 from Cheshire East Council’s community fund to promote health and wellbeing.

The project’s Steering Group has taken the decision to kick-start the scheme by ordering four teak benches and four planters, as well as the wall-mounted metal cut-outs representing Poynton’s mining, industrial and aerospace heritage. The start to the Heritage Garden also presents an excellent opportunity to have a memorial bench located in the garden, with one already being taken up, and interest in a second. The project’s Steering Group hopes that by making a tangible start to the Heritage Garden, individuals and businesses will now come forward to help make up the shortfall of funding. Interested parties are kindly asked to contact the same e-mail address as shown above.
