The Parliamentary Boundary Commission has published its revised proposals for new constituencies. In 2016, the Commission proposed that Poynton should no longer be part of the Macclesfield constituency, but be moved into a new seat called Bramhall and Poynton.

Poynton Conservatives helped lead strong opposition to these plans, and the Commission has recently changed their plans and are instead recommending that Poynton stays in the Macclesfield constituency. They have dropped plans for a new “Bramhall and Poynton” seat.

However, this is subject to a final consultation – everyone who agrees with us should support the revised proposals – see the information on the Boundary Commission’s website: www.bce2018.org.uk

Comments on the proposals can be made online on the Commission’s website, or by writing before 11 December 2017 to the Boundary Commission for England, 35 Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3BQ. Please note that all comments will be published online by the Boundary Commission – see their website for more details.
