The 15th July was Poynton High School’s Whole School Sponsored Walk, an example of the wider engagement and celebratory traditions of the school. On a glorious, sunny day, students walked an impressive 8 miles from their school on Yew Tree Lane to Lyme Park and back again…hopefully raising money to help purchase a new school minibus.

At the time of writing Poynton had raised over £3,000 through sponsorship and donations, with more money still being collected by students.

“A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising this, it was a herculean effort to marshal over 1000 teenagers around our local community! “ said David Waugh, Head Teacher at the School.

Donations can be made to Poynton High School’s Just Giving site at  https://www.justgiving.com/Friends-of-Poynton/
