On Monday 10th Feb, Mr Megarrell, a PE teacher at Poynton High School rewarded his top House point scorers by treating them to a free Hickory’s celebratory meal as a thank you for all their hard work and commitment during last term. Since Mr Megarrell took over as Head of House for Vernon last February, the House has gone from strength to strength and the Vernon flag is now flying high for the 3rd consecutive half term as a result.

Mr Megarrell added; “When I took over, I set up a house council to work closely with me to restructure the rewards offered to pupils. The impact this has made has been massive and it is no surprise Vernon House continue to be the house everyone is chasing!” He also added; “I contacted local business within the area to see if they would be willing to help contribute to incentives or prizes each term and Hickory’s were fantastic. They couldn’t do enough to help set up the reward for the pupils”.  If any other businesses within the local community would be willing to help or contribute in some way please contact Mr Megarrell in the PE Department at the school.
