Recently at Poynton High School Year 10, as part of their GCSE RE curriculum, have been learning about the work of food banks in their local community. As a result of this students were asked to bring in donations of food and everyday products to support their local food bank, Stockport Food Bank.

The Year 10 response was overwhelming with around 100 items donated by students, parents and carers. These items included products such as packets of pasta, tins of beans, jars of baby food and even a few beauty products such as shampoo and toothpaste.

On the 9th February Nigel Tedford, who works for Stockport Food Bank, collected the vast array of donations from Year 10 students. Nigel and Stockport Food Bank were both highly grateful of the donation.
