Poynton Conservatives would like to thank all essential workers who have kept the country functioning while fighting against coronavirus. This includes staff in the NHS, care homes, Police, Fire and Ambulance Services, and staff in supermarkets and shops and the whole supply chain from farm to shop, postal workers, delivery drivers and the people who keep the electricity, gas, water, sewage, telecoms and refuse collection services running.
The Town Council’s staff have worked hard arranging volunteer help, prescription service, keeping the community informed and re-opening the Civic Hall to hirers. The volunteer street champions have provided help across the village.
Finally, thank you to the vast majority of local people, who have followed the social distancing rules and helped stop the spread of the coronavirus.
