With the dust having settled on last December’s successful Christmas Fest, and as promised in January’s Poynton Post, the organising committee of local volunteers would like to thank the following Poynton retailers, who have kindly donated towards the cost of staging the next Fest later  this year:

The Acoustic Lounge, Angie’s Boutique, Butcher’s Block, Chris Evans Goldsmiths, Ciao Restaurant, Farmers Arms, Fire and Ice Cafe, Henry D Johnstone Jewellers, The Kabin, Lester and Brown Jewellers, Mates DIY, Michael Fox Opticians, Panache One London Road, Paul Taverner Gallery, Soho Delhi, Strawberry Pig, Tom Yam Thai Restaurant, and Zig Zag ladies fashions.

The Town Council has committed to continue helping towards the cost of future Christmas Fests, while those retailers listed above have gone some way to closing the funding gap for the 2019 event. In addition, at last year’s Fest, the street vendors, many of the stallholders, and the fairground operator made donations towards the event costs, for which the organising committee is also very grateful.

If any other Poynton retailers or eateries wish to contribute towards this popular community event that would be most welcome. Donations in the form of cash or cheque (payable to the Poynton Parish Plan Monitoring Group) can be left with the Civic Hall reception staff. Donations should be in a sealed envelope addressed to “The Christmas Fest Committee”. All such contributions will be acknowledged in the local media and in Town Council communications.
