The new Cheshire East food waste recycling service is scheduled to start in January 2020.  Planned by the previous Conservative administration, a small caddy lined with a bio-degradeable bag will be used to store food waste, with the bags being put out in the green garden waste bins.

The food and garden waste will be recycled at a new plant near Crewe. 30,000 out of 80,000 tonnes of rubbish in black bins during 2016/17 was food, which will now be made into compost. Cheshire East will soon start publicising the new food waste collection service. Please could residents not put food waste in the garden bins until they receive the caddy in the new year.
