After over 25 years at McIlvride Medical Practice, Sister Denise Albutt is retiring. Denise, who lives in Poynton, has been an established member of the surgery team and is well known to many of the patients. She has carried out a number of important roles at the practice, including the Travel clinic, baby immunisations, dressings and long term condition management such as blood pressure and asthma. She will be missed by the whole team and the patients. Her replacement, Sister Helen Carter, joined the practice in February and brings with her a wealth of experience from her role in hospital and emergency nursing.

Dr Paul Bowen, Senior Partner at McIlvride said “Denise is such a familiar face at the practice that she will be missed tremendously. Her commitment to the role is a shining example of how nursing in the NHS makes a difference to people’s lives, day in, day out. Many patients have remarked on how skilled and experienced Denise is in finding elusive veins for blood tests and putting them at ease. We wish her a very happy retirement”.

Denise plans to spend her retirement helping out with her grand-parenting duties, and remaining as fit as ever through her regular running club. Having completed a number of marathons, she shows no signs of slowing down in her retirement.
