The Reception and Year One children from St. Paul’s Primary School were treated this month, to a visit from some of Poynton’s very own local heroes. Drake Class, who have been learning about emergency services, had a visit from Poynton Fire Service, where they had the opportunity to find out about the job of firefighter. They were able to take a close look at their protective clothing and even try some of it on themselves. They looked at the fire engine and all the emergency equipment and thoroughly enjoyed squirting the water hose. Class teacher, Victoria Danton said: “We were so lucky to have the Fire Service visiting us to inspire and excite the children. We now have a new generation of would-be firefighters in our class!”
