The small band of volunteers responsible for this project, including representatives from Poynton Rotary, Poynton In Bloom, Poynton Town Council and Poynton Library, is delighted to an announce that the Heritage Garden, occupying the previously barren space between Priorlegh Medical Practice and the Library, is virtually complete. As residents will have seen, it comprises a central raised bed, now planted up, with a traditional lamp post, and elsewhere on the site seven memorial benches, five large planters, and a number of wall-mounted silhouettes that celebrate Poynton’s rich heritage. It is hoped that there will eventually be an impressive centre piece for the raised bed – the empty plinth awaits!

A number of groups, organisations and individuals kindly helped fund the Garden, and they will all be recognised on a permanent plaque. There will be an official opening in Spring, when there are plans to involve our young gardeners, and to include some sensory flowers and plants, as well as a herb section.
