It is with regret that The Centre announces the retirement of Geoff King as
a trustee and committee member.

Geoff has decided to spend more time with his family and pursue other
interests that he also feels passionate about, whilst retaining his
membership of The Centre.

The Centre would like to thank Geoff for almost three years of tireless work
in heading up a team of likeminded people in the much needed upgrading and
refurbishment of this Poynton landmark. His energy, enthusiasm and drive
throughout this period have been invaluable and was the catalyst for raising
the much needed funds to carry out the structural and remedial work
necessary to bring the building up to modern day compliance in numerous
areas. He has been tireless in overseeing this work and without his efforts the
building could have fallen into serious disrepair, and perhaps closure.

No detail has been too small for Geoff to address, and it is a testament to
his dedication and work ethic that The Centre is now entering a new and
exciting phase of growth to serve the people of Poynton in a wide and varied
range of activities and opportunities.

The structural soundness of the building and the many upgrades inside are a
legacy that Geoff should be extremely proud of and everyone at The Centre
thanks him and his wife June for all her support and wishes him every
success in his future endeavours.
