A Charity fund raising day was held on 1st December 2016 at Cedarwood Retirement Apartments, Park Lane, Poynton with all proceeds going to The Christie Hospital Cancer Appeal Fund

Activities on the day included stalls, tombola, raffles and a silent auction.

The amount raised was a staggering £1600!

Thank you to everybody, including local businesses, residents of Cedarwood and the local community in general for their generous donations and support for this most worthwhile charity

Without these essential donations The Christie Charity cannot continue to support work to deliver the highest quality cancer care alongside world class research and excellent education

The Christie, first established on 26th November 1901, is now the largest single-site cancer centre in Europe, treating more than 40,000 patients a year.  They were the first UK centre to be officially accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre, providing radiotherapy, chemotherapy, highly specialist surgery and a wide range of diagnostic and support services. Based in Manchester, UK they serve a population of 3.2 million people.
